Redefining, blurring, connecting and creating a space with a collaborative essence, dissolving systems that allow us to explore a play of intuition.

Day 2        TUE 7.9.2021
14:00—17:00 BST INTRODUCTION TO VARIABLE TYPE (Johanna Hammer)
Subverting the relationship between type designer and reader through the lens of variable type. This workshop will introduce the tool of variable type design and examine letterforms and shapes in motion.

17:00—20:00 BST  VARIABLE AXES & SUPERGLYPH (Emi Takahashi)

How many layers of meaning can we embed into a variable glyph? In this workshop, we will explore the conceptual and poetic potential of variable font axes. Taking a personal object as a starting point, participants will design a Superglyph which translates its formal, textural, emotional, and/or symbolic qualities into one or several conceptual variable axes.

Day 3        WED 8.9.2021
17:00—20:00 BST FORM BRIDGING (Can Yang)
Create forms based on the observation of each other’s form-making process to break the primacy and dominancy of both artist and artwork, by seeing the importance of relationship and relative forces as a method to break through the limitations of the self but form a desire to neutralise the position of narrator or speaker into a reflective space.

REQUIREMENTS: Physical or digital tools i.e. pencil or 3D modelling softwares to create forms.

Day 4        THUR 9.9.2021
17:00—20:00 BST TRANSFORMATIVE LANDSCAPE (karolina krupickova)
A 3D visualisation of a manifested discourse on how to politicise, depatriarchise, create, intersectionalise, queer, decolonise, transform, rethink and empower within graphic communication design practices.

REQUIREMENTS: Illustrator, Cinema 4D (14 days free trial on maxon.net)

Day 5        FR 10.9.2021
17:00—20:00 BST 3D CLIMATE (Kristýna Sidlárová)
Exploring the endless possibilities in the microcosm of 3D software, creating your own climate within it, setting rules, creating relationships and stories. This workshop aims to help you to execute your vision within a digital 3D space. We will immerse ourselves in 3D sculpting via Zbrush and create a final shiny composition in Cinema 4D.

REQUIREMENTS: Cinema 4D (14 days free trial on maxon.net), Zbrush (30 days free trial on pixologic.com).

Day 6        SAT 11.9.2021
10:00—13:00 BST DIGITAL FASHION (Anna Liedtke)
Exploration and creativity without the limitations of time and budget. Perspectives of digital fashion and take the first steps, instead of a basic training in garment 3D software, we will work on a template to which we will make some simple modifications to visualize your ideas and create impactful content.

REQUIREMENTS: CLO 3D (30 days free trial on clo3d.com), nice to have three-button mouse and second screen.

14:00—16:00 BST SHOWCASE (all)
Presentation of the content created during the week.
